Why are we more likely to get bumpy skin on our arms and legs?

Skin conditions are often identified by where they distribute on the body, and keratosis pilaris is known to occur on the upper arms, thighs, buttocks, and cheeks—areas with hair follicles (that get clogged with excess keratin). In severe cases, it may show up elsewhere, like on the forearms, shins, or stomach.
