Use in the shower on clean, wet skin, as frequently as desired (or as tolerated by skin). Wet the bar, and use gentle pressure to buff in small, circular motions on parts of your body you wish to smooth (avoid sunburned, broken out, or otherwise irritated skin).
You control the power—use firmer pressure on rough spots like heels and elbows, but be gentle on the rest of your body. Rinse, pat dry, and moisturize.

Regrettable purchase. Bar falls apart after 2-3 uses even when you keep it dry and away from moisture after use. When you think about the cost per use given it crumbles to pieces almost immediately, it is an insanely expensive piece of soap. Also it will stain your shower orange and leave no discernable scent on your skin. Devoted to the OG but the Affogato has issues I bought at Sephora so this won't show as "verified," but the Affogato bar definitely needs work. I'm devoted to the green banana regular bar, and was very excited to try this new "gentler" option. A few issues that need to be worked out (I ordered very soon after the launch, so maybe later batches are better!): 1. Within a few uses, cracks developed between the two textures of the bar. By about 1/3 of the way through the bar, it broke into two pieces, and now as I try to use those pieces, additional chunks keep breaking off. The normal bar stays together really well until it's very, very thin. 2. As others have noted, the orange dye is too strong, and it makes a mess of the shower. 3. Despite being marketed as a more gentle level of exfoliation, I don't feel any difference. In fact, as the bar has started to crumble, I've had several experiences where a very jagged crystal actually really scratched my legs. I still have a whole bar and the bits of the first one to use up, which is a bummer! (One thing to note about any of these bars: The microcrystals are washing down your drain, obviously, and if you have a linear drain you may need to scrub it after most showers to clear away the sediment build up! The orange scent bar breaks up halfway in I've loved every other scent of this bar, and actually the scent of this one is my favorite of all. However the way this bar is put together makes it break up about halfway through using it. By the time you are 2/3 through using this its a like of mush. It's like it's made of multiple kinds of soap and that causes it to break apart. Love every other scent and works great on my skin, just don't buy the orange.Janelle

Visually appealing but fell apart after 25% of usage I liked the bar visually, the smell was ok. Like other reviewers I smelled more chocolate than orange, which I wasn't upset about. The biggest issue I had was that the bar isn't even half used but it crumbled into about 5 separate pieces, making it awkward to use. I purchased the soap holder as well to store this, and even with covering it when not in use it still fell apart. :( I love the exfoliation bars and may repurchase a different one, but I wouldn't reorder this scent.Marie

The medium grain was great for daily use was great for preventing ingrown hairs, especially in the summer when I’m shaving more frequently. The swirled appearance of... The swirled appearance of this bar is beautiful and the unique scent is just in time for fall. This is a more gentle exfoliation than the original buffing bar so those with sensitive skin who have never used a buffing bar might want to start with this one. Gentle, but potent Used this daily for two weeks and it's made my skin noticeably smoother, especially on the side of my knees and the back of my legs where I sometimes have strawberry skin. It does a really good job exfoliating, so you'll definitely need to follow up with a moisturizer. I like how this formula is much gentler than the original buffing bar, which I can only use sparingly (about twice a week). I used Affogato daily without any irritation. I generally prefer unscented products, but the fragrance is pleasant and non-irritating - to me it smells more like bitter chocolate with citrus notes. The only downside is that the color tends to stain my white tub a bit more quickly than I'd like, which is why I knocked off one star. But overall, I really enjoy it and would repurchase.Ashley
