What’s the difference between crepey skin and wrinkles?
Wrinkles are similar to crepey skin because both are associated with sum damage and aging. Wrinkles tend to be deeper and more pronounced than crepey skin, which has more of a crinkly tissue paper-like texture with super fine lines. “Wrinkles are essentially creases and folds or ridges in the skin,” says Dr. Melissa Kanchanapoomi Levin, board-certified dermatologist and founder of Entière Dermatology in New York. “And this may be due to getting older, or it might be from natural expression of certain facial muscle movements that we do, or from the skin becoming thinner over time." Crepey skin, on the other hand, is an area of skin that’s sagging and loose.
