This is a ceramic tray and aluminum cover set. The ceramic is a silica composite, compressed through high pressure casting, then sintered to create a durable material with precision molding to preserve the integrity of the custom Soft Services design. The cover is an alloy optimized for high strength and low weight, with a corrosion-resistant surface treatment.

Some assembly required:
—Extend the life of your preferred bar by placing on the ceramic drying dish, beneath aluminum splash cover when not in use.
—Flip the splash cover upside down and use it as the base to the ceramic dish for easy access to your bar while using.

I've tried just about every exfoliator on the market as someone with dry skin (+kp to boot). In my opinion, Soft Service's buffing bar is the only one that works. I'd go so far as to say other exfoliators don't hold a candle to theirs. I'm a long time lover of the original formula, and I had to try the green banana buffing bar. The smell is so gorgeous. It's an elegant fresh green banana smell, it somehow smells like staying at a 5-star boutique hotel on some wonderful island somewhere. I usually don't go for scented products because they give me a headache and irritate my skin, but this is a new holy grail. If they came out with this smell in their carea cream... I can't even think about it. Amazing, 5-star product I'll never shut up about.

Elegant Smell, Effective Product

I'm furious that this is so good, to be honest! Reminding myself that despite being pricey, it's replacing multiple steps and doing a better job of smoothing my skin than anything I've ever tried. I was doing a complicated multi-step routine to manage my KP and this replaced dry-brushing, a KP-specific body wash, and in-shower manual exfoliation. After three uses my arms are silken and my legs have never been smoother. 

(FWIW I HATE bananas and banana scents but took a risk on the scented version thanks to the review descriptions and it doesn't smell like banana to me at all. Very pleasant fresh scent.) 

I'm also really impressed by the shipping/packaging innovations, avoiding plastic altogether, and by SS customer service; I contacted them for an exchange on another product and a real person emailed me back and was so helpful. Sometimes you truly do get what you pay for; these products aren't cheap but they really deliver!

Miracle cure for KP and bumpy skin

I got this to try on my legs because they have started to have red little bumps from shaving and nothing that I've used yet has worked. This is really easy to use and makes my skin so soft and smooth. It doesn't really have a scent but it's nice and clean. I really like how my skin has started to look after just a couple of uses. I would definitely recommend trying this if you have dry skin, bumps or just want to exfoliate really easy.

Really nice stuff

I absolutely adore this bar! It was my first purchase, and the green banana bar piqued my interest, and I was pleasantly surprised. My skin feels incredibly nourished after using it. It has effectively addressed the kp on my arms and smoothed out my entire body. The scent is delightful—clean, fresh, and reminiscent of green bananas. I’m thoroughly impressed!

The scent is light and inoffensive but honestly smells like cheap hotel toiletries. I wish the unscented version didn't have so much blue dye in it. Also I don’t understand the price difference.

Generic “fresh rain” smell

I've had dark underarms / bikini area my whole life, and honestly had no idea how to fix it or get rid of it. I've tried everything and nothing has worked. Cue this buffing bar! It's magical! It works! It's the buffing bar I never knew I needed in this life. It scrubs away all the dead skin buildup and leaves my skin so smooth and soft. I also like to use it for bumpy strawberry skin. I have some of that on my knees, and this helps it be a lot less bumpy. She's a little pricey, but totally worth it!! I also LOVE the green banana scent. PLS make a matching body lotion/wash/deodorant/literally any body product in this scent!

Wow!!! This is the best thing I’ve used for my KP. I’ve struggled for years with these bumpy spots behind my thighs and within a week I can already see and feel a major difference. Wish I knew about these products sooner! Soft services is a game changer. The green banana scent is divine, enjoyable yet not overwhelming.

Wow!!

Not only am I obsessed about using this buffing bar, I am just so so in love with this scent! Green banana is where it’s at. If this scent were put into their other products or even a body mist, it would be an immediate buy. But aside from that, my skin is so incredibly soft and my kp is starting to improve with each use. I’m so glad I took a chance on this!

Can’t believe how fast this bar worked. It’s a pretty strong exfoliation but within 2-3 uses my KP on my arms is virtually gone. From start to finish this has been a great experience. Very fun and playful packaging, I love the subtle scent, and I am beyond thrilled with how smooth my skin is now!!!!

Smooth, clean, luxurious skin

Not sure if I got a defective bar, but the smell is much less potent than I thought it would be. This truly smells like a regular bar of soap, which is a bummer bc the green banana smell was what I was most excited about :( the exfoliation however, is NEXT LEVEL and my skin feels so soft! While I’m excited to see continued results, I do wish I had just gotten one of the routine sets with the og buffing bar since the green banana smell didn’t hit (could’ve saved me from buying each product separately).

Wish the smell was stronger

So I loveeee the new scent of the buffing bar. Maybe I’m bias because I personally love bananas and topical fragrances, but this one is just the right balance. It’s not over powering, and smells natural. It got me nice and prepped for my trip and took it with me to stay polished in in the Floridian weather/sun!! I will 100000% be purchasing once I’m through with this bar!

No surprises here, I loves it

Buying something without smelling it first is always a gamble and usually I end up disappointed. However with this soap it was everything I thought it would smell like and more. I’m obsessed with the smell. So much so that I wish soft services made a version of their other products like the carea lotion with the same scent as well.

As good as the other buffing bars

This is the perfect upgrade to an already perfect product. The scent is understated but distinct - fresh and optimistic, not too "tropical" in a treacly way. The qualities of the buffing bar are the same -- both creamy and gritty, leaving skin all over your body feeling perfectly slick and smooth, and conveying a truly freshly-scrubbed feeling. This is very giftable, very chic, and truly the part of my shower routine I MOST look forward to -- a subtle delight to the senses.

Feels good and kinda smells like rain

It smells nostalgic but also fresh! I love the original buffing bar and like that this scent doesn’t interfere with other scented items when I shower, it’s a really great complement to other products because it is not at all overpowering. Love it.

I love the classic buffing bar so much so it's refreshing too have this amazing scent to make my shower even better! It makes me feel invigorated but calm, a great way to start the day.

 The fragrance in this bar has some notes which recall verdant, fresh vegetation. Cut fresh grass, banana leaf, plus a base note of something earthy and warm. I think this is a good year round scent and will layer well with any fragrances you wear.

The classic but even fresher...

I honestly cannot remember how I used to exfoliate before the Buffing Bar came along - I have really sensitive skjn and often struggle with folliculitis and miscellaneous bumps. This bar really helps  more than anything I've tried previously. I usually go back and forth between scented and unscented products because I really enjoy a fragrant shower. The Green Banana Buffing Bar js perfect, it smells so green, verdant and fresh. It truly enhances everything I already love about buffing. This bar js so summery and gorgeous, it reminds me of the feeling of showering after the beach, right before you're about to go to dinner. It's a sunset in a bar. I absolutely love thjs.

Who knew platano could be a scent so clean and invigorating! It's the whiff you get when peeling the skin of a fresh green plantain. It's like the middle of a spring bud, zesty but not spicy. With the same exfoliating power of the original blue bar :)

Fun Fresh Scent

The scent of the new buffing bar reminds me of citrus grooves bathed in sunshine. It’s very light and refreshing and reminiscent of a product that would be used at a spa.The scent is like being back in Hawaii. 
         I have both the original and the new green banana buffing bar and I love them both. This product exfoliates without leaving any sort of greasy film behind. I love using it prior to shaving or after a long day at work (I’m a nurse and frequently feel pretty gross after a shift at the hospital). I also love it for removing any remainders of self tanner. It is a perfect addition to an everything shower!

I’m loving this new Banana Buff bar!  Works the same as the original bar to get rid of my pesky ingrown hairs and arm bumps, but now with a yummy banana smell while bathing.  It actually reminds me of the banana flavored laffy taffy candy I used to enjoy when I was young!

I’m loving this Banana buffing bar!

I was a fan of the original blue buffing bar, and I’m a fan of this new fun twist! Love the color and the fresh soft scent. It is NOT artificial, neon sickly sweet banana scent. But rather the very subtle smell of a young, slightly underripe banana, which is exactly how I like to eat mine ! Same amazing exfoliation, fun new scent, and as always an ABSOLUTE must have if you’re going to doing self tanning this summer. My biggest advice is to splurge for the soap container / holder - because if you’re gonna invest in this soap you’re gonna want it to last. And it’s just too good to sit and turn to goo in your shower between uses, so do yourself a favor and use it, but take care of it , let it dry and store it properly , and get every last bang for your buck!

Long time Buffing Bar fan - IMHO best physical exfoliator out there. More rough than others, but not too rough. Super efficient vs gels. New scent is a dream - milky, fresh, green and almost like snuggling a baby's head. Perfect ME TIME energy. LOVE

This is such a cute idea! I love having a dedicated place for my buffing bar and the home is very sturdy and has some weight to it. I definitely think this preserves the life of my buffing bar and it looks cute in my shower!

Cute Shower Addition

Honestly, im so disappointed with this product.  I can't see the functionality of a piece of (breakable) crockery and an aluminium cover for storing soap. It's so over priced. It could easily break in a shower.

Overpriced and pointless...

I've been meaning to write a review for this for ages now. Everytime I use the buffing bar I think about how glad I am that I purchased the soap home since it makes each buffing bar last a lot longer. It immediately solved the problem of the buffing bar getting mushy in the shower and it looks cute.

Cute and functional!

I was hesistant at first, but this soap home is worth every penny. 

The materials used feel sturdy and dependable, not to mention, they make transporting your buffing bar to and from the shower so much easier than a traditional soap tray. 

This has helped the longevity of my bar and kept it from water, dust, you name it! It’s also very easy to clean and will hold up through many many buffing bars which I am counting on! 

I will be purchasing a second for my husbands bar soaps. If you’re on the fence I absolutely recommend you do it!

i love the overall sustainability of the soap home, from the plastic free packaging to the great materials used in the actual product, it’s a beautiful way to preserve the life of your soap bars, and it keeps my surfaces clean and looks beautiful doing so! i think it’s a great product! beautifully done, sturdy, and my soap doesn’t stick to it!

New! Soap Home

I love the soap home! I find the product to be quite beautiful. I love how the bright blue bar pops against the soft pink ❤️ I think it’s a really unique design and I love that it has a cover to protect the bar from water in the shower. Since I have a smaller shower I think that’s why I was having trouble keeping my bar out of the splash zone. I was a bit nervous that it wouldn’t fit properly on the ledge in my shower but it actually fit just right. I appreciate that it feels heavy and sturdy- I have peace of mind that it will stay put and I don’t have to worry about it falling off the shelf. I also love that the cover part that you are picking up to access your bar is not breakable! I am still not sure about when I would put the metal part on the bottom as opposed to on the top, I just lift it and grab the bar then set it back in place.

Functionally excellent and a very clever design. The buffing bar doesn’t stick to the ribbed ceramic dish which is a huge plus, and the splash shield is a very innovative way to extend the life of the buffing bar (or any other soap). The colors are also excellent - the vibrant blue is sure to go with most decor. I don’t have a need for the use case of storing the cover under the soap dish but I could see how that would be helpful for some.

Gorgeous! Much needed. Prior to being gifted the Soap Home, I was honestly very worried about wasting my Buff Bar down the drain!

I love it! To be totally frank I was initially skeptical it would solve my problem (slimy, brown-hued buffing bar that I had to return to the bathroom to periodically flip like a pancake in order to get it to fully dry) but it absolutely did! The Soap Home is chic and fits perfectly on my little shower supply shelf, and the Buffing Bar was basically completely dry post-shower in as little time as I was. I think my only thing is that the movement/assembly of the splash cover from cover to stand doesn't feel super practical to me mid-shower — I have been more inclined to just lift the splash cover, use my bar, and replace the bar under the top. I can't really picture myself changing from cover to stand in the same use.

The packaging for the Soap Home is superb like all of Soft Services products. I think the Soap Home is a necessary accessory for the Buffing Bar, because it had been staining the ledge of my tub for months prior to receiving the Soap Home. The Soap Home fits perfectly on the side of my tub stylishly and with functionality. I would give the Soap Home ***** stars. It's perfect! There's nothing I would change.

My first thought when opening the Soap Home — wow, this looks and feels even more luxurious than I expected! I love the thoughtfulness of the design— using non plastic materials, the ridge motif throughout, and the cute “S” on the underside of the base. I was excited to bring this beautiful item into my bathroom. Once in use, it delivered as expected. It looks beautiful, and protects the Buffing Bar beautifully. My one complaint, is that this home isn’t one you can travel with— not only because of the fragile ceramic base, but also because the lid doesn’t close securely with the bar able to slide out either side.
